You'll collaborate with specialists in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Neurology, Exotics, and Critical Care within a truly multidisciplinary environment that encourages shared expertise and integrated case management. AVETS recently opened a state-of-the-art specialty hospital featuring four advanced surgical suites, a 16-slice CT scanner, 1.5 Tesla MRI, dedicated Critical Care Unit, Karl Storz endoscopy equipment, and Philips Affiniti 50 ultrasound technology with echocardiography capabilities. • The anticipated starting base salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $220,000 to $280,000 per year.
In your day-to-day, you will:
• Provide advanced medical and interventional cardiology care, diagnosing and managing a wide range of complex cardiac conditions in referral, emergency, and hospitalized patients.
• Perform and interpret echocardiograms, thoracic radiographs, electrocardiograms (ECGs), and Holter or telemetry monitoring to guide diagnosis, treatment planning, and long-term case management.
• Collaborate closely with Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Surgery, Oncology, Neurology, Exotics, and Emergency teams to develop integrated treatment plans and optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities for emergency echocardiograms and catheterization procedures as needed to support urgent patient needs.
• Partner with overnight Emergency and ICU teams to provide continuity of care and expert consultation for hospitalized cardiac patients.
• Utilize advanced hospital resources including CT, MRI, telemetry, and specialized ultrasound capabilities to support diagnostic and interventional cardiology services.
• Build trusted relationships with referring veterinarians through timely communication, collaborative case management, and expert consultation.
• Guide pet owners through cardiac diagnoses, treatment options, and long-term management plans with empathy, clarity, and confidence.
• Access ongoing mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities, including interventional cardiology and cath lab experience across the Ethos network.
• Contribute to a collaborative hospital culture focused on innovation, teamwork, exceptional patient care, and advancing specialty medicine.
What You Bring
• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• Board Certification in Cardiology (DACVIM-Cardiology) or Residency Trained in Cardiology.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
• A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine.
